I just got a note from Trent saying he's dissatisfied with some of the choices he's made with Kingdom Come. The background and setting will remain the same, but he's going to do away with all the stats. Maneuvers and the concept of Techniques will still exist, but the Techniques will shift to something much more similar to the Miracles in games like Nobilis. Essentially, they're going to be much more interpretational and there will be fewer, FAR fewer actual 'rules' and 'guidelines' to worry about. Basically, this just means that most of the actual 'rules' and guidelines will disappear, and Techniques will mostly be left up to the player to describe the effect. So, for instance, there won't be any more numbers in the game; you won't compare Prowesses or Warfare or anything; you'll just describe an effect.
Also, Trent has always kind of had a dislike of the Deistical; he wants to return to the traditional "Good Versus Evil" style he had initially envisioned.
He asked me to thank you guys (the playtesters) for being patient. I guess this means nose back to the grindstone for me.
**SIGH**
So. I'll probably have a *new* set of rules (hopefully much, much smaller) in May. Until then, we'll keep playing with the ones we have.
